SVDDEN DEATH Speaks Out Against Fire-Breathing at Raves
Videos have gone viral on social media showing fans breathing out fire against dense crowds at Summoning of the Eclipse, SVDDEN DEATHs’ own curated festival. The technique has rightfully been criticized as reckless and dangerous, especially at such large events.

The videos show ravers using lighters to expel large clouds of flames into the air, surrounded by thousands of other attendees. The technique is made possible by filling the the cheek cavity with butane (gas from the lighter) before igniting the lighter as close to the face as possible, while forcefully spitting out with pursed lips. Pyrotechnic acts often require extensive training, experience, and of course, permits and certifications. In some cases, often unique to state and local regulations, supervision by local fire authorities is required.

It’s so important to keep in mind the safety and comfort of your fellow ravers at your favorite events. SVDDEN DEATH was quick to condemn these acts, tweeting out to fans:
in order 2 do fire breathing as a part of a performance there’s a million safety precautions we have to take w fire marshals and i legit decided to stop doing it because of how dangerous it is. so please don’t fuckin do it in the crowd 🤨i love y’all but please stop doing that
