Sounding the Alarm: Avant Gardner Accused of Failing to Pay Artists

Avant Gardner is facing a wide array of criticism nowadays, especially for what some used to consider a staple in the NYC EDM community just a short while ago. Riddled with a pattern of overselling events, including most recently the 2023 Electric Zoo festival, the company is now being accused of failing to pay musicians who performed at their event.

In an Instagram story posted around noon on Thursday, vulfpeck noted that Avant Gardner still owes them money for their schvitz shows, which took place back in early November.

This isn’t the first set of allegations against the company (or it’s subsidiaries and promoters) relating to failure to pay artists. The class action lawsuit filed against the Electric Zoo festival for the 2023 Hyperspace edition outlines a history of failing to pay event staff, vendors, and even some artists; something the lawsuit claims to be one of many factors in the festival’s day 1 cancelation.

No further details were provided on this situation, and vulfpeck did not respond to our request for comment.
